The main geographical features of Botswana is the Kalahari, covering about seventy to eighty percent of the country,the balance made up of The Okavango Delta, the Makgadikgadi Pans,  the Chobe River and Linyanti Swamp, which forms the northern boundary. The Hardveld in the east, where the landscape is made up of sandstone, granite and dolerite outcrops and is bordered by the Sashe and Limpopo rivers. The Tsodillo Hills and the Drotsky's Caverns are in the north-west of the country.

All these areas are fully or partially incorporated into National Parks and Game Reserves. The principal means of accessing the various Lodges featured here, is by air (primarily in single engined light aircraft for the longer distanced transfers and where the distance is practical and interesting, either by boat of vehicle. The majority of the venues are fully hosted and catered facilities with en-suite bathrooms. Few of the remote Lodges have air-conditioning.
