Chief’s Camp is situated in the exclusive Mombo Concession of the Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana. This region is known as the “predator capital” of Africa and is considered to have the finest game viewing in Southern Africa . The area is home to the Big Five, with recently introduced Rhino. The camp is situated on the northwestern tip of Chief’s Island , in what is termed seasonal delta. The area is therefore seasonally inundated with floodwaters. Generally, the floodwaters infiltrate the area in June/July and remain for a period of 4 to 5 months. AT A GLANCE
Accommodation: - Guest accommodation comprises 12 luxury tents (24 guests maximum), which are secluded, permanent luxury bush pavilions. Each unit offers en-suite baths and private game viewing decks. Electricity is supplied by a combination of silent packed generator and battery system allowing 24-hour power supply. Ceiling fans, and hair dryers are located in each room, in addition to communication with the main Lodge. The main lodge complex houses the dining area, bar, curio shop, library and reception area. This structure has been built into the existing landscape, under a heavy canopy of mature Jackal berry, Sausage and Rain trees. Activities: - Game viewing in the Mombo area is nothing short of spectacular at any given time. Apart from its predators, the area is also renowned for its large concentrations of plains-game, elephant and buffalo. Since the camp opened, no less than 52 different lion have been identified within a 9-kilometer radius of camp. Further, game-sighting statistics over the past twelve months reveal that leopard have been spotted every 2 to 3 game drives. Mokoro excursions are also available water levels permitting.The luxurious atmosphere of Chiefs Camp is complimented by a magnificent swimming pool and Spa facilities. Children |
