At Abu Camp, you are transported in large comfortable custom-made saddles into the shimmering watercolour of the Okavango Delta on Elephant Back. Elephants are not just able to cope on sand and in water with equal ease, but can also get close to other game , which is generally unaware of the human presence aloft. An elephant back safari is an extraordinary experience, walking beside them, or riding high through the bush experiencing Africa from an elephant perspective. The youngsters cavort and roll in the water, wander off and come charging back. The adults amble on quietly, browsing, snapping off the odd branch to eat as they go. In addition to the elephant back safaris, at Abu Camp you will also be taken on night and day game drives in open safari vehicles and on mokoro (dug out) canoe excursions to view the abundance of game in the Okavango Delta.
