Little Vumbura
is located on an island in a
private reserve in the
northern reaches of the
Okavango Delta. It is in the
same region as it's sister
camp, Vumbura Plains Camp.
This camp is part of a
community participation plan,
that aims to bring the communities
who live around the Okavango
Delta into the tourism
mainstream. Little Vumbura
is surrounded by water, lying
close to large rivers.

Accommodation
Vumbura is a beautiful six
roomed tented camp, shaded by
the canopy of an ancient
Okavango forest. Each tent
is large and spacious with en
suite bathroom facilities,
along with an outdoor
shower. A plunge pool and
reading area overlook the
floodplains.
Activities
Surrounded
as it is by water and lying close to large rivers, water based activities
are the focus, with mokoros (dug out canoes) traversing the floodplains
under the guidance of experienced polar - (guides) Open 4x4 Land Rovers
allow guests to get close to animals in the savannah areas.
Walking safaris (which are on request) around the islands give the
opportunity to enjoy Africa from a different perspective. The
game viewing is consistently good all year with lion, leopard elephant,
sable and buffalo along with extensive plains game providing an excellent
all-round game experience in this remote corner of the Okavango.
Children
Little Vumbura Camp only accepts children 6 yrs and over. No childcare/baby-sitters are
provided for. Children must be under the care of their parents at
all times.
Please Note: Children 6-12 yrs require the use of a Private Vehicle
and Ranger for all activities - this will be at an additional charge.
